Marrakech is a year-round destination, but each season offers a very different experience. Knowing what to expect can help you plan the perfect trip.
Spring (March to May) is widely considered the best time to visit. Temperatures hover between 20 and 28 degrees Celsius, the gardens are in full bloom, and the city is lively without being overwhelmed by summer crowds. It is also the season for several local festivals.
Summer (June to August) brings intense heat, often exceeding 40 degrees Celsius. While hotel prices drop and the city is quieter, sightseeing can be uncomfortable during peak hours. If you visit in summer, plan outdoor activities for early morning or late afternoon.
Autumn (September to November) is another excellent window. Temperatures cool down after summer, the light is beautiful for photography, and the famous date harvest takes place in the surrounding oases. October is particularly pleasant.
Winter (December to February) offers mild daytime temperatures around 18 degrees, but evenings can be cold, especially in the Atlas Mountains. It is a great time for hiking and cultural visits without the heat.
No matter when you come, Marrakech has something special to offer. The key is matching the season with your interests, whether that is outdoor adventure, cultural immersion, or simply relaxing in a riad courtyard.
